Role Description

We are looking to expand by adding 2 Carpenters to our construction team in Powell River, BC. Carpenters will be responsible for working hands-on, and under supervision of a working supervisor.

  • Constructing, assembling, and dismantling concrete formwork according to blueprints and other instructions.
  • Ensuring the layout structure is as per the architectural/structural building plans and sketches by checking that all work is accurate.
  • Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with standard company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Work with Junior Carpenters and Labourers to achieve exceptional standards.
  • Collaborate with Lead Carpenters and Site Supervisors/Project Managers.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry (carpentry, concrete, concrete demo, rebar bending, and installing and forming).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Both Red Seal Journeymen and Carpenter Apprentices are welcome to apply.
  • Ability to lift, handle and move up to 50lbs.
  • A willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to help other trades, as well as a keen interest in growing your own career.
  • Ability to operate machinery is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Willing and able to travel and work on projects away from home base for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to commit to full time employment.
  • Standing for extended periods of time and repetitive tasks.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment.
