Role Description

We are looking to expand by adding a Carpenter / Concrete Superintendent to our construction team. This is a key higher-level position and will be responsible for execution of all projects outside of greater Vancouver regional district.

  • As a Superintendent you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned construction projects and provide onsite leadership to field staff and subcontractors to execute field operations safely.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager, you will monitor and evaluate quality control, ensuring sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the project schedule, and identify/advise on design deficiencies, schedule interruptions, and other project risks and opportunities.
  • Train and maintain reports on employee performance and safety.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with standard company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Lead Carpenters and Site Supervisors/Project Managers.
  • Manage all projects outside of Greater Vancouver Regional District.

Job Requirements

  • 20 + years of construction experience is required.
  • 8- 10 years of experience in supervising construction crew is required.
  • Experience working with public works would be an asset (Municipality, Ministry of transportation, Provincial and Federal agencies).
  • Previous experience in concrete remediation and heavy civil sectors is an asset.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Hands-on experience in Carpentry, Concrete works, and Structural Steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift, handle and move up to 50lbs.
  • A willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Maintain the safe and proper working order of all tools and equipment on site.

  • Expected to travel and work on projects away from home base for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to commit to full time employment.
  • Standing for extended periods of time and repetitive tasks.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment.
  • Flexible to take on different tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work shifts and extended hours if required to meet deadlines.
